"The GL. iNet Flint 2 is perfect for IoT projects. OpenWrt gives me complete control over network segmentation, VLANs, and custom firewall rules - essential for isolating smart home devices. And also VPN performance is outstanding. WireGuard runs at near line-speed, and setup took minutes. In my opinion this router handles everything flawlessly."

"The flint two is an excellent router. The Flint three has better specs, but the Flint two is already troubleshooting and tested so the bugs have already been worked out of this version. So I must say that this thing just runs so darn smooth and my VPN client operates without a hitch. It’s basically like it’s not even there."

"I've been using the GL-MT6000 (Flint 2) for several months and I'm genuinely impressed with the hardware and firmware. The VPN policy routing system is sophisticated and well thought out, and AdGuard Home integration works great out of the box. I'm on a 2Gbps broadband connection and the router handles it at full speed without breaking a sweat — impressive for a device at this price point. Having OpenWrt 24 available is a great bonus for those who like to get their hands dirty, it opens up a whole new level of customization while keeping the familiar GL. iNet interface as an option. I did run into a couple of minor software issues, but the support team handled them promptly and professionally, escalating to the R&D team where needed. It's rare to get that level of engagement from a manufacturer's support. For the feature set on offer, this router is exceptional value. Highly recommended for anyone who takes their network privacy and security seriously."

From a hardware perspective, it handles high-speed connections effortlessly, and the OpenWrt-based interface provides the perfect balance of user-friendly controls and deep customization for advanced users. The Wi-Fi range and stability have been top-notch since I plugged it in. Exceptional Technical Support What really sets this experience apart, however, is the customer service. I ran into a specific configuration issue and reached out to the technical team for help. They were incredibly prompt and professional. Instead of going back and forth with endless emails, they jumped on a remote session to troubleshoot the issue directly. They identified the bottleneck immediately and had everything running perfectly in no time. It’s rare to find a company that backs up its hardware with this level of hands-on, dedicated support."

Wireguard combo with Beryl (client) and beyond

"I'm extremely happy with this router and the tunnel I made thanks to WireGuard with my Beryl. If you are newby like me with VPNs, you would be able to manage the server and client in few hours, not at easy as Tailscale, but with less dependencies. You need to know that tools like Tailscale (you can easily install this too) use the WireGuard protocol behind their system. Apart of that I really love the Adguard Home app, it replaces my old Raspberry Pi with Pi-hole in my home lab. Thank you GL. iNet, really, your products are solid! I can't wait to exploit the infinite possibilites of OpenWRT."

"I have bought two Flint-2. The routers look very good. Setting up the router for standard use, like main network and guest network. Is the user interface simple and easy to use. However, if you are going to configure the router beyond the standard setup, it will require you to familiarize yourself with how to use Open-WRT. The learning curve is very steep and it will require a lot of you. Fortunately, GL. iNet support is very capable and helpful. The help I have received from support is significantly better than expected. And the help from support makes the router worth more than five stars"
