Unfortunately, the OpenWRT version on the router is VERY outdated (2019) Also, I have run out of flash many, many times when installing packages and Tailscale. It would be very nice if there was a microSD card slot."

"I ordered this direct from gl-inet and it took a while to arrive. I order the same unit from amazon, got it faster and it was cheap. I like the unit, will meet my testing needs. The one think I didnt like was in AP mode you cant set the IP address to a static address, you have to use a a command line option to set it as provided by support. I wish these support MESH, they would be a nice low cost mesh node. Also POE support would be nice."

Excellent OpenWRT router and technical support

"I ordered this router specifically to bridge between a DOCSIS router and 2 internal home networks (I didn't want to have to reconnect many IoT devices to a new network). It is a great price and reviewed well and I'm very happy with it. I had an issue that required bumping to a beta firmware that broke the admin UI and technical support has been marvellous both responsive and providing practical guidance (none of this "reboot the Internet"!) that good me back to working quickly. I really like that the router is based on open-source (OpenWRT) and was delighted to learn that it works as a Tailscale (excellent) device too. So I'm very happy with it, will recommend to friends and wish I'd learned of it a few months ago when I had to replace another router."

"5 stars from me as it did what I wanted for VERY little money - I managed to install OpenWRT in it's latest release (currently only supported in snapshot) and so far as I can tell, everything just works. A nice way of getting into OpenWRT from my 10+ yo ASUS router (not supported). Haven't tried heavy load yet, but speed is ok for my ADSL connection, PPPoE configuration was finicky in OpenWRT but works now (and has nothing to do with the Original GL iNet product). Looks lovely too! Network segregation is for another day. . ."
