What Our Beta Testers are Saying

the AXT1800 is amazing, and even with the os in beta the router stay very stable, i always get the maximum speed as i can get, im watching often 4k content that i stream in local from my mac to my xgimi projector, and for the first time with all the router i bought, i dont have any latence, everything is perfectly fluid. overall is for me the best travel router you've made so far.

@Emmanuel

How many GL-iNET routers do you see in the photo? The latest little solid AXT1800 Wi-Fi 6 router leads the others to power up my family Internet.

@George W

Slate AX is the sleekest and smallest AX router i have seen on the market, taking GL router performance to a whole new level. Compared to my older S1300, i now have full wifi signal where signal was previously patchy and unstable.Not only that, the wifi speed is also improved in that range. The UI is faster and more polished, with NAS installed as default. Highly recommended upgrade for both travel and home use.

@Johnex

The GL.iNet GL-AXT1800 router is a good looking little travel router, not so small but still small enough for the luggage, which may not do everything, but it can do a lot. With AX WiFi or WiFi 6, sufficient to provide an entire holiday home with internet. Many security features such as OpenVPN and WireGuard (fast vpn), both client and server, AdGuard, Cloudflare, WPA3 protocol.

@Bert Frans

I currently own a few GL.iNet products so I had high expectations for the Slate AX… This device has exceeded ALL of them! This little workhorse is the most incredible tech product I have put my hands on in a long time. Nothing has made me say “Wow!” so many times as much as the Slate AX has. It has Wireguard speeds that exceed my provider’s maximums; it repeats signals from an impossible distance at impressively high speeds; It outperforms much of my my enterprise gear… and it’s a TRAVEL ROUTER!

@Rob

Versatile router to quickly deploy internet distribution with Wifi 6, VPN connection, and other useful glinet features and configurations at most locations.

Reviews

Fantastic

"The Slate AX has exceeded my already high expectations in every way with incredibly solid, fast and secure network access backed by outstanding tech support. The support folks are highly responsive and knowledgeable and quickly helped me navigate my way through the more obscure aspects of the router. Two weeks ago I knew nothing about this company and I am so very glad to have found them. I would not hesitate to recommend their products to every privacy conscious traveller."

— Steven H. (5/5)

Functional travel router, but limited headroom

"The Slate AX (GL-AXT1800) has been very functional and gave me the router-level VPN setup I was looking for. Its performance has also been impressive so far. My concern is the limited headroom. Even with only the WireGuard client configured, the router is consistently showing temperatures of 70 or higher and about 80% flash memory usage. That makes me less confident about adding another application from the many options available, or expanding the configuration further. So far, it has delivered the features and performance I wanted. I’d feel more comfortable recommending it for heavier customization if it had more memory and ran cooler."

— Ade A. (4/5)

Very Stable Router

"Deducted 1 star because, I found out that, their root operating system OpenWrt, is an old copy. GL-inet has not yet updated their firmware to the most up-to-date OpenWrt version 25. 12. 5"

— NIRAV S. (4/5)

Slate AX (GL-AXT1800) Wi-Fi 6 Gigabit Wireless Travel Router

"An excellent trading experience in every respect. The Slate AX (GL-AXT1800) Wi-Fi 6 Gigabit Wireless Travel Router performs brilliantly and is easy to set up. It is a high-quality device with commendable security features and customizability for one's own operating environment."

— Jari E. (5/5)

These are definetly some

"These are definetly some of the best routers sold. And the support is pretty awesome i would say the best. The only downside is I am in the U. S. so sometimes the support responds from an international time zone. But they always respond and they always help, you can tell they are tech people. Great products all the time."
