GLKVM Cloud Plans Explained: Standard, Advanced, and 90-Day OG Pass
Starting September 9, 2026 (PDT), GLKVM Cloud Service will be offered in two plans: Standard and Advanced.
Before anything else, the part that matters most to existing users: remote control access is not going away. Core remote control through GLKVM Cloud remains available at no cost under the Standard plan.
If you do not use GLKVM Cloud Service for remote access, nothing changes for you. Remote access through self-hosted services or third party services like NetBird, Tailscale and ZeroTier remains the same.
What's changing is that three advanced GLKVM Cloud features are moving into a new paid Advanced plan. This blog explains exactly what stays free, what moves, why, and what happens to your account on September 9.
What Stays Free
The Standard plan covers everything most users rely on day to day, at no cost:
- Unlimited device binding - bind as many devices to your account as you own
- Unlimited connected device access
There is no cap on how many devices you can add, and no limit on how long you can use it. If your workflow is "one person, controlling their own machines, one session at a time," Standard is the complete product.
What's Moving to Advanced
Three GLKVM Cloud features are moving into the paid Advanced plan. All three exist for the same reason: they solve problems that come up when multiple devices, multiple people, or multiple sessions are involved.
1. Screen Wall
View several connected devices on a single dashboard at the same time, instead of switching between them one by one.
Who this is for: IT teams monitoring a rack of machines, managed service providers watching several client sites, anyone running more than three or four Comet devices.
2. Device Sharing
Grant another GLKVM account access to one of your devices, without handing over your own login credentials.
Who this is for: Teams where more than one person needs to reach the same machine - support handoffs between shifts, contractors who need temporary access, families sharing access to a home server.
3. Same-Device Access Paths
Keep more than one active session open to the same target device across web, desktop, and mobile hosts at the same time. On Standard, one host device supports one active session at a time — starting a session on your phone will end the one on your laptop.
Who this is for: Anyone who works across a desk setup and a phone and doesn't want to keep reconnecting, or two colleagues who need to look at the same screen together.
If none of those three describe your use, nothing about your experience changes from September 9 (PDT).

Your OG Pass: 90 Days of Advanced, Free
GLKVM Cloud exists because early users bought the hardware, filed the bug reports, and told us what was missing. We're not treating that as a footnote.
Every existing user receives an OG Pass - 90 days of free Advanced plan access, delivered in the GLKVM Cloud Platform as a service update notification on September 9 (PDT). Claim it and Advanced activates instantly. No payment details required.
Who counts as an existing user: anyone with a GLKVM Cloud account created before September 9, 2026, 12:00 AM (PDT).
We hope 90 days gives you enough time to try Screen Wall and Device Sharing in your own workflow, so your decision comes from real use rather than a feature list.
You Still Don't Have to Use Our Cloud at All
Worth repeating, because it's the part that makes this a genuine choice: GL.iNet's remote KVMs can work without using GLKVM Cloud.
Every device supports self-hosted cloud, and native integration with Tailscale, ZeroTier, NetBird, and similar tools. This gives you the flexibility to build a remote-access setup that does not rely on GLKVM Cloud infrastructure.
Why We're Introducing a Paid Plan
Relay servers, video bandwidth, and account infrastructure carry a real ongoing cost that scales with every device added and every session opened.
Charging for the three features that consume the most infrastructure - multi-device viewing, multi-user access, multi-session connections - lets us keep the core free tier genuinely free and funded, rather than quietly degrading it later.
FAQ
1. Is Advanced per account or per device?
Per account. One subscription covers all devices bound to it.
2. What happens to my Screen Wall setup and shared devices if I go back to Standard?
Your configuration is retained, not deleted. Those features simply become inactive until you upgrade.
3. I don't have a GLKVM Cloud account yet. Can I still get the OG Pass?
Yes, as long as your account is created before September 9, 2026, 12:00 AM (PDT). If you already own a GL.iNet KVM device and haven't set up a cloud account, creating one now qualifies you for the full 90 days of Advanced access. It takes a few minutes and costs nothing. Go to glkvm.com to create an account.
4. Will I be charged automatically after my OG Pass ends?
No. The Advanced plan requires you to actively subscribe. When your 90 days end, your account returns to Standard unless you choose to upgrade.
5. I bought my Comet before September 9. Does anything I paid for get taken away?
Everything the hardware does on its own is unaffected. Remote control through GLKVM Cloud stays free. Self-hosting and third-party network tools stay free and unlimited.
6. How do I subscribe to Advanced?
Advanced plan is available directly in the GLKVM Cloud platform. Log in to your account and go to the Subscription Center. Choose monthly or annual billing at checkout, and the plan applies to your whole account, covering every device bound to it.
New users can start with a 7-day free trial.
7. How do I claim my OG Pass?
Sign in to GLKVM Cloud on or after September 9 2026 (PDT) and you'll see a service update notification. Claim the Pass from there and your 90 days of Advanced begin immediately. You can activate the Pass at anytime.
