    Performs as expected although there

    "Performs as expected although there are niggles with the SMS text messaging interface -- needed for now as my 4G LTE network provider manages billing this way on PAYG -- it can't view messages bigger than 160 characters in the GL-inet vendor web UI. The workaround is to SSH in and view them from the root shell in /etc/spool/sms/incoming. Upgrading to the 4. 8 beta firmware to address this caused a bunch of issues and the rollback to 4. 3 as shipped was not entirely clean."

    "This was my first Gl. Inet device ever and I couldn't be more happy with how it works!! Zero issues, easy to upgrade with both OTA & Manual way and also super easy configuration. the inbuilt VPN capabilities are the cherry on top of this device. Worked flawlessly with all carriers I've tried so far. Plus I'm absolutely in love with Toggle button actions 100% recommended!!"

    "Setup: Super simple. The GLiNet GUI is clean, friendly, and perfect for everyday users. No tech headaches here. Battery: Long-lasting. It keeps going through workdays and travel without begging for a charger (intensive use, lasted for 2 days; this might depend) Speed: Solid performance. Unless the weather or signal's acting up, your data flows fast and smooth. The OpenWRT implementation turns this into a wireless sandbox, VPNs, custom configs, playing with guest network firewalls, almost everything. Reliability: Zero issues so far. It's stable, dependable, and quietly brilliant. (The boot time and sim card connection procedure takes around 7 minutes, I recommend keeping this in "Standby Mode" when you don't use it so you won't have to wait too much)"

    Good travel router would like 5G support

    "good little travel router. I use it to provide data access in countries outside my roaming plan and to repeat hotel WiFi signals making it much easier to connect multiple devices. Note: remember to turn off the VPN when trying to use connected tablets to navigate hotel Wi-Fi landing pages (you only have to do this once and the Hotel picks up the MUDI mac address). I also use the MUDI to access geo-locked streaming services – it works well with Nord and SurfShark via WireGuard Pros: decent battery life, worked seamlessly with airport purchased sims in Egypt and Tunisia. microSD slot which I have setup as a file share for photo backup and media download. Cons: Sim cover very hard to get off and feels like you are going to snap it, dim display not visible in bright sun, WiFi Repeater range not as good as my Opal to I have to use that with a battery pack to strengthen the weak hotel WiFi signal at poolside. No support for 5G. No eSIM support – although you can install a physical eSim card and add eSims to that"
