Slate AX is the sleekest and smallest AX router i have seen on the market, taking GL router performance to a whole new level. Compared to my older S1300, i now have full wifi signal where signal was previously patchy and unstable.Not only that, the wifi speed is also improved in that range. The UI is faster and more polished, with NAS installed as default. Highly recommended upgrade for both travel and home use.

The GL.iNet GL-AXT1800 router is a good looking little travel router, not so small but still small enough for the luggage, which may not do everything, but it can do a lot. With AX WiFi or WiFi 6, sufficient to provide an entire holiday home with internet. Many security features such as OpenVPN and WireGuard (fast vpn), both client and server, AdGuard, Cloudflare, WPA3 protocol.

"I upgraded to the Slate AX from the Opal, and the experience is definitely noticeable. So far I haven't found an a Wi-Fi connection that the Slate AX won't connect to, unlike the Opal. This router has accompanied me an several trip and an international trip as well. The VPN capability with NordVPN and my own personal VPN server was very seamless and easy to setup. The hotel portal feature in order to connect to hotel Wi-Fi has worked great as well. Pairs great with a compact USB drive to plug into the back for file sharing or loading movies onto. Overall great product that I would recommend for any traveler who wants peace of mind with their network or even if someone needs a temporary router while moving."

Rock‑solid stability What impressed me most is how consistently it runs. Once configured, it simply stays up. No random drops, no mysterious reboots, no “let me just restart it quickly” moments. For an audio system where reliability is everything, that stability is worth its weight in gold. Clean network separation for audio The Slate AX makes it incredibly easy to open a dedicated WiFi and LAN network for the audio system.
